  • Blue Green Smoke
Newly added site! Excellent design and very attractive...a tad like Liz herself. Wonderful place to spend a few hours.
  • I Spy a May Queen
Worth it just for the photo on the intro page, but they've got lots of other useful and fun stuff too. Essential for fans.
  • Mesmerizing
Also a great site, very up to date with all the latest buzz from the fan community.
  • Cool, Tall, Vulnerable and Luscious
Very nice site, pretty up to date and a good source for lyrics. Easy navigation too.
  • Stratford-On-Guy
This site's been around forever, and still has some very useful stuff. Maybe the best FAQ page -- get your facts here..
  • LizPhair.com
Bills itself as "The Official Unofficial Site". Lots of sound clips (just samples) and a good selection of videos (interviews, etc.). Definitely worth a visit.
  • Beginning to See the Light
A good starting point, with lots of links to cool Liz stuff on the net. Updated fairly regularly, too.
  • Exile in Netville
Another one that's been around for a long time, run by the very entertaining Meredith. She's taken a break from updating this, but it's still worth a look.
  • I'm Only Happy When It Rains
Great site for Janet Rains, Phair's backing vocalist. Great exclusive Lilith Fair pics, and plenty of info.

    The Story So Far

Rock. Liz Phair started making her four-track tapes while at college in the early '90's under the name Girlysound. On her first Matador album, Exile In Guyville, she took on the Rolling Stones and all the guys in the Wicker Park, Chicago rock scene, emerging victorious on the cover of Rolling Stone under the banner "A Star is Born".

Heralding a different kind of sex-positive woman's rock music, Liz Phair rather quickly released her sophmore effort, Whip Smart, which, while it made radio playlists, was received with less enthusiasm. If you put your fingers up to her hand she talks back you know.

Phair's fans waited four years, during which time their heroine got married and had a son, before the release of Whitechocolatespaceegg in 1998. Oft-reviled for her fear of performing live, Phair packed her suitcase and joined the Lilith Fair in 1998 and again in 1999, as well as headlining her own three-month jaunt and -- somewhat ironically -- opening for Alanis Morissette. She's currently at work on new material. Check back with us for more details...
