The Best Place For Mexican Food

Laura on Jan 26th 2009

No joke: the Iron Cactus Mexican restaurant is by far best of its type in Austin, Texas. The rooftop bar is second to none in the Texas as a whole, and the Mexican food served there is sublime.

What really gets me — and everyone else that I’ve spoken to about this hidden gem — is the quality of the service I always receive from every member of the staff there. From the waiting staff, to the host, to the bar staff; each and every one of these people thoroughly deserves the praise that is being heaped up on the restaurant by fans and critics alike. This is a perfect example of how to run a Mexican restaurant.

Even without this service factor — and to be honest that really does mean a lot to me — there is the excellent range of tequila and the great Mexican food, each of which would stand up in its own right. If you’re unsure what to go for on the friendly and accessible menu then I would suggest you consider the tortilla soup and the fish tacos, both of which are earning the Iron Cactus further friends in the food industry.

Well done to everyone there. A great restaurant.
